09 Feb Computing Continues to Evolve
Sometimes it’s tough to see where computing technology is going next. We now have tablets and smartphones, and options like desktop virtualization. How could things get any better?
They can and they will. Technology continues to advance, and tomorrow’s computing options will make modern machines look like the clunky devices of yesteryear. Consider these up and coming computing technologies:
Wireless charging – Several technology companies are working on charging pads that can charge laptops wirelessly. Wireless charging will eliminate the wires and hassles involved with charging today.
Wall computing – Microsoft is working on wall-size computers that would be convenient options for presentations.
Flexible tablets – Not the most practical idea, but certainly one of the coolest, the bendable tablet is likely to hit store shelves (if there are still store shelves then) within a few years.
Data toss – Data toss technology will allow you to send information from your tablet or smartphone to a traditional computer or wall computer with just a flick of your wrist.
Virtual reality – Yes, we’ve been promised virtual reality since the 1990s. This time, the technology may finally become viable, thanks to recent advances. A number of companies intend to offer virtual reality products within the next two to five years.
